  •  Babies and the poor don't vote in R primaries (9+ / 0-)

And lets be VERY clear - what's more important? I think we all know the answer to that.

    Country, schmountry.

And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future. You are interested in the unknown... the mysterious. The unexplainable. That is why you are here.

    •  If the poor didn't vote then why do the GOP (3+ / 0-)

see a need for Gerrymandering and laws that restrict voting in areas with lots of poor and minority citizens?

Gentlemen, congratulations. You're everything we've come to expect from years of government training (Zed, MIB).

      •  Poor white people (5+ / 0-)

vote (for the GOP) because if they don't abortion techniques will be taught in kindergarten and the UN will take everybody's guns.

I am certainly not rich, I am not quite poor, but I vote, and vote often because I want Science taught in public schools, for comprehensive, age appropriate sex edu to be taught in public schools, for us to have working regulatory agencies that look out for the people, for everyone to have access to affordable healthcare, and for everyone to receive a living wage, while preserving the social safety nets of the New Deal.

I got all that from my Poor, Blue Collar, Feminist Momma.

It's past time to say that there is such a thing like that and simply tell children the WHOLE story of how babies are made, as I did with my children, very young.
I mean they were a little more than 2 when I sat them down and told them how babies were made, in all honesty, and every year we went over it again so that it stuck in their minds.

            •  That's not true. (1+ / 0-)

There is understanding the biology of where babies come from, and that boys are different from girls, and then there is understanding the different expressions of gender and sexual attraction.

The questions kids ask or think about at age 14 is quite different than the ones they ask at 5 and that is for a reason. Their little brains are still developing.

If my 5 yr old asks me about something having to do with kink or a philia or a fetish--I am going to put that kid off for a while and redirect the conversation. It's quite different when a older teen asks that something similar because they could be asking you something about their own arousal--is it normal, okay, etc., as opposed to "What is this person doing" in a general sort of way.

And there is a big difference between teaching small children the difference between good touch and bad touch, and having a discussion with older teens about Rape and Consent, or reminding children to wash their butts in the shower or bath, as opposed to teaching an older kid about sexual hygiene.

Age appropriate isn't about shame. It's about allowing children to be kids without burdening them with knowledge that makes no sense to them cognitively, but might in fact scare the shit out of them for no good reason.
