... that Democrats are on the correct side of this, I'm extremely frustrated with the media coverage being about which side is "ahead" or "behind."

All I know is that my customers and I, regardless of party affiliation, are on the losing end of this this fight.

We're are on the wrong end of the barrel in this hostage situation. The pain we are feeling doesn't feel like "winning."

The MSM cares about ratings and advertisers. They need to keep this entertaining enough to keep their core audience happy, and of course, keep the advertisers happy. Treating this like it's a football game, is part of that. This is not as new as you think. For many decades, the Presidential primary season and November election period has been referred to as a "race" for as long as I can remember. Don't take it personally.

As far as good people being hurt, yes, that is real. Very real. The other side treats politics like it is a war, and are not afraid to hurt people, even their own constituency, if they helps them win. We can be political pacifists and roll over and give them their way, but then, to use a another war analogy, if we appease them, they just come back and do it to us the next time.

Alternately, we can stand up for what we believe and not simply stand our ground, but go on the offensive and beat these guys. Is politics supposed to be war? It may not be the way we would like it to be, and not what they taught us in American government classes. But we didn't make these rules, it's the other side who has, and that's how they wage their campaigns - by their own rules. To the other side, we are not simply opponents with different opinions on how to run America, we are enemies to be crushed. Look at their talking points, and peruse a list of recommended books on conservative websites. We are no longer dealing with the part of Wilkie, Eisenhower, and Gerald Ford. These guys want to set up an autocracy.

Yes, my friend, good people are being hurt and will continue to be hurt unless we win this one, and the next one after that, and again and again...  If the other side ultimately prevails, packs the SCOTUS, gerrymanders everything in sight, gets to control ALL the media instead of most of it, smashes what's left of the labor movement, and wipes out every social gain in the last 120 years, set your watche back to the 19th century.

Just another underemployed IT professional computer geek.
