  •  back when I used to do reptile shows for a living (0+ / 0-)

I had a female Burm named "Thulsa Doom"--she was a bit over 13 feet and weighed around 75-80 pounds. She was puppy-dog tame--little kids would poke her and pull her tail and she'd just take it all in stride. But when it was feeding time, you didn't want to be anywhere near her. =:O

She had an entire room in my house that she shared with an 8-foot Boa Constrictor named "Radar" (who I also used for shows), with a kiddie swimming pool to soak in, a wooden jungle-jim to climb on, and a basking lamp mounted to the wall.

In every show I did, I emphasized to everyone "This is NOT a snake you want as a pet."

When I stopped doing shows and rescue work, I adopted her out to another person from Naples who also used her for shows.

In the end, reality always wins.
