    I don't think the State Police have jurisdiction like that.

    I've never heard of the PA State Police taking over a small town that has its own police force.

    They mostly police the interstates and of course the turnpike, looking for speeders. I mean, I guess they must do something else, like fine people for hitting deer on the highway, but local cops afaik have jurisdiction locally.

    Maybe another Pennsylvanian knows more about this and can explain.

      state where law and order have broken down, and to me, that is beginning to describe parts of rural PA where the crazy has taken over.
