    The GOP has to repudiate the Tea Party quickly or that is likely to be the scenario. And I don't see them moving very fast in that direction. They still seem terrified of the TP.

      a turning point -- if the current popularity level of the Republicans lasts into the next election year, the voters may join in repudiating the Tea Party, which would allow the GOP as a whole in taking back their party from the crazies and nominating someone like a Christie or other traditional Republican. With the NJ court rulings on marriage equality, Christie can even run on the good old "activist judges" platform; that's always good for a few bucks.
