I would put my 3 small children in the back of the bus, leave the driver's door open, run to the front, give a push (all 110 pounds of me), jump in as it rolled down the driveway, pop the clutch, and off we'd go.  Ah, yes, the old 6-volt system.  Somehow we all survived but I'm damn lucky I didn't trip jumping in the driver's seat. Child endangerment, maybe?

Similar story with one of my trucks.
The clutch was frozen with slush & I burnt it almost.
Since my wife didn`t drive, she would push the truck to get it rolling & I`d jump it in second gear while she ran to jump in.
One day some guy decided to help her push the truck & I started yelling at him to leave her do it by herself, (otherwise she wouldn`t have been able to run & catch up to me).
He must have thought I was a jerk to refuse any help for her.

I`m already against the next war.

you've painted.  If the guy thought you were a jerk, he obviously had never experienced a strong woman who can handle these guy things by herself, right?  And wifey and you have a great story to tell your grandkids.  Beats the ones about walking to and from school uphill both ways.
