    an "Obama Caves" diary!

I did read on FB that Cantor and Boehner left the earlier meeting with no press comments and looking irritated, and that there would be another meeting this evening.  They are reported to have expected an agreement to the debt ceiling proposal and to have been very angry that Obama turned them down.

I still think Obama looks entirely too relaxed and too determined- this is not the face of a guy who expects to preside over the Boehner Depression.  I'm wondering if he's got executive power to raise taxes in the event of a possible default.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.

a default. The paymasters have spoken. I think the deal will be a clean cr and a 6 week extention on the debt limit. That will give Boehner something he can go back with to his caucus, while at the same time Obama knows there will not be another face off six weeks from now.

All I'd have to do to get my fix of "Obama caves" diaries is to do a search for related diaries posted in 2011.

Those who are truly addicted to capitulation diaries have lots of material from which they can draw to scratch that itch.

New events inspiring a fresh batch aren't necessary or desirable.

it.  Those of us who've worked as or with community organizers know how to effectively deal with opponants who outgun you financially and societally.  It's far more challenging and complex than standard politicking, and far more effective long-term.  The lack of understanding here stems, I'm assuming, from DKs demographics.  Older, financially secure white men are not familiar with the dynamic, most have negotiated in a business model where the alpha white male generally wins.  Aggression is the defining trait for businesses.  It's also the core for our foreign policy as long as we stick to the business model in our politics and governance.

Analyzing the process of repealing DADT is the best way to understand Obama's approach.  It contains all the aspects of community organizer's best tool kit.

is irrelevant to the operation of the federal government.  The president and senate have power in their hands that they have the ability to exercise.  There is no need to organize the citizenry to assert their rights.  They are the establishment, the forces agaisnt which community organizations try to bring people power to affect change.
