      at around 500K at least Wyoming is almost 100000 miles in area. Mariana would be less than 1000 miles with a little over 200K. The Virgin Islands are less than 200 sq miles, we could perhaps add them to PR, and give them statehood as part of PR becoming a state. so instead of 55 states, we'd have 53, and we're not even including American Samoa, which is another possession. all the unincorporated islands were basically set aside when President Bush created the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands National Monument, so in reality we only have a few areas left for potential statehood.
