    War is going on.

    And it won't look like a mind-numbing exchange of heated rhetoric between douchebags in suits.

    I'm all in favor of drawing attention to longstanding cultural divisions in this country, but I think it does a disservice to those who have been through the trauma of war to call what we're presently experiencing a "war."

    Job losses, as horrible as they are, are not the equivalent of armed slaughter.

      As much as the left and right are divided, we're still not far enough apart for a war to break out over our differences.

      Words are always better than bombs.  Calling heated rhetoric a war does disservice to those people who have actually experienced war and just makes us look ridiculous at the same time.

      Of course this is more of a culture war...I say war because Tea Partiers are willing to destroy our economy, much as the Civil War did...CW reconstruction took how many years?
