  •  Tancredo will fire up the Democratic base (0+ / 0-)

But John Hickenlooper is a popular Governor from what I understand so hey may be hard to unseat.

    •  He is probably pretty popular... (1+ / 0-)

After the floods.  I haven't seen polls.  There was a story of him surveying the damage in a helicopter and he spotted a stranded family.  He had the chopper land and they picked up the family.  Pretty cool.  Plus he was doing all of this while he was on crutches.

      •  I know Hick's poll numbers last year and beginning (0+ / 0-)

of the year were in the 60s and the state GOP was having trouble recruiting candidates to face him. But of course with the gun laws, Hick's delayed execution of Nathan Dunlap, and the recalls have emboldened the GOP to take on Hick in 2014. Besides Tancredo three other candidates are running, including the SoS Gessler. Gessler caught some flak when he announced his candidacy during the floods. Things can happen with in a year and while Hicks' popularity has fallen somewhat this year with the Democratic control of the Legislature, he still has the edge heading into next year.
