    •  Not so (0+ / 0-)

Proudhon, the fist to attach the suffix -ist or -ism to the root of anarcho, coined the term in 1840, and it is long established traditional sociopolitical theory and movement which is anti-capitalist.

Whether as a noun or adjective, it doesn't mean chaos, or capitalist free rein by rich overlords, but quite the opposite based on the root meaning of the word.

An = without, and archo = authority. But this in no way means disorganization with a owning class in charge. Anarchism explicitly means no ruling class, and no power separate from the people themselves, has authority.

What is left when hierarchy and authority is eliminated is a horizontally organized society based on free, equal association without coercion. Capitalism can't exist in such a society, since capitalism depends on the working class producing on behalf of the owning class, which introduces authority and hierarchy and eliminates free association.

So, no, it is impossible for capitalism to be anarchic.  The term doesn't fit in any form.
