  •  I keep hearing this tripe (15+ / 0-)

I keep hearing this tripe about how people are going to forget about the shutdown and whose fault it is before the elections of 2014. A couple of things:
    1) The great shutdown of 95-96 took place almost a full year before the 1996 elections and the GOP still took a blood bath. I have no reason to believe things will be different this time around.
    2) Anybody who thinks that the Teabag Taliban are going to let this go and try to bury it like the Republicans of 1996 tried to do is delusional and should seek psychiatric help immediately. They will be boasting about it, threatening to do it again and in fact, actually campaigning on it in 2014.

is that the Republican voters will forget about it.
These last few years have been one scandal after another, and two years later it never happened.
Most republicans blame Obama for the recession, for example, even though it started 2 years before he took office.
Benghazi, the IRS scandal, going all the way back to the "death panels".
Of course, they're blaming the shut down on Obama now, but if the Tea Party doesn't come through on their promises to "defund Obamacare", they might be doomed.
Remember how much the caucus shrank after the 2012 elections.

Your beliefs don't make you a better person. Your behavior does.
