More of a lurker than writer...love jazz as well, especially Vince Guaraldi.  But bongo jazz is more of an inside joke.  I'm a huge fan of The Clash.  Bongo jazz was Joe Strummer's self deprecating way of describing the band in the song Revolution Rock from the album London Calling.

      Any song you want
Playing requests now on the bandstand
      El Clash combo
      Paid fifteen dollars a day
      Weddings, parties, anything
      And Bongo Jazz a speciality

That line always hit me!  They also have a song called Rudie Can't Fail that has a great line about drinking beer for breakfast!  I'm too old for that.  Besides what would be a good breakfast beer?

I'm just wasting a great big Corporation and the entire fund. The girders of Wall Street And the temples of money. And the high priests Of the expense account. And Im wasting the whole thing. J. Strummer

        i also love that album.

re breakfast beer: Mikkeller makes something he calls "Breakfast Stout". At the other extreme, one of my fraternity brothers  used to refer to Olympia tall cans as "breakfast cylinders".

was good music for a hangover. At least the one I heard with a hangover was.
