Sometimes the best way to honor a much-beloved fur person is to adopt another one.  Not too soon, but don't wait so long you get lonely and mourn too long.  No, you will definitely not forget the ones who have gone across the Rainbow Bridge.  The love shrines to them are still in your heart and that will never change.  When you get to be as old as me the love shrines to the past fur persons will still be there, if only because their natural life spans are not as long as ours.

You're used to giving and receiving unconditional love from your fur persons, so it's good to honor that tradition because it will make a fur person happy and it will make you happy as you discover a unique new personality in a new fur person.  There can never be too much love in the world, and the more you give the more you get back which means you have more to give.  (Yes, I think that's where "my cup runneth over" comes from - no matter how much there is, there's more that spills out when there's a constant supply of love.)  It's a habit that feeds itself and you have to go with it or become a frustrated person with all kinds of love to give and no one to give it to.

You may not be ready quite yet, but it won't hurt to start looking around a bit, check the web site for your local humane society....

    Best Wishes....
