I get burned up when people don't understand that the Federal money flows into the states for different reasons.

The Feds are Utah's biggest employer, Hill AF Base, Ogden Defense Depot, Tooele Army Depot, Deseret Chemical Depot, and Dugway Proving Grounds. Ya want a well equipped Army? Well, we are the folks that hang on to all the nasty stuff for you.

We have Zion's, Bryce, Canyonlands, Arches, Capitol Reef, The Grand Staircase of the Escalante, Flaming Gorge and the incredible Green River, Wasatch Cache Nat Forest, Uinta Nat. Forest, Manti La Sal, on and on and on...BLM land. You guys are the biggest landowner in the state.

Do also we have idiots as reps? O absolutely. Fools who love the red dirt on their boots and are too stupid to understand that it takes a nation to preserve it. If the Federal money dried up all the the Parks and Monuments and wild places would go with it.

Do I think it's about takers and makers? No. It's about ideology and those of us who see that we are all in the same boat and it takes all of us to keep it afloat.

I'm thankful to you and all of the blue states because without you we would be lost. We need you, but you need most of us as well. We out west are the states were there are more jackrabbits than people and unless you want to say goodbye to all those things that remind us that nature was here first don't forget us.

And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County Down by the Green River where Paradise lay. Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away. John Prine

If the federal government cut off funding to Native American reservations, that would propel Utah toward the Contributor column.

but then I left a lot of places off the list. I was still in wake up mode.

no accident. It has been part of the way these places both keep up their military traditions and also get something that nobody will dare shut down or move or call pork. Remember how fiercely they fought when base closing time came, and those places which could have been located anywhere were sometimes the hook to get essential legislation to get them placed in the South. I don't know but they may think this will help them in the event they get involved in a domestic shooting war because they will have the troops and the weapons and the bases, without having to pay for any of them.
