investigation. It has shades of Trayvon all over it. Unarmed black kid gets shot while minding his own business in a location where he had a right to be and there was NO urgency to locate the gun/shooter that killed him.

Does the case report anything about where the man "stored" his kill gun before turning himself in to the police 4 days after the killing?

My first question for the police is whether they asked everyone that night, "Do you own or have a gun? Where is your gun right now? May we inspect it?"

Everyone who has just killed someone should be subject to toxicology ASAP to check for criminal use of a gun when under the influence or intoxicated. The story as written suggests his instructions for his daughter and friends to go lie down in the kitchen was all about fear. On the face of it, it sounds like excellent defensive advice, to take cover.

But well intentioned people who are defending their life and property would do the same, TAKE COVER, assess the situation, call the police and report the situation. What's obviously missing from this story is his instructions to his daughter and friends to go lie down in the kitchen and call the fucking police!.

Maybe he did tell them to call 911, maybe they did call 911 even if didn't tell them to do so. But part of the problem with his advice to them to retreat, is that he made sure there were no witnesses when he went hunting for someone to shoot.

I suspect there is more to this story. It appears that the police didn't look beyond the tip of their nose.
