    LA Times and I wish other papers and television news outlets would follow suit.

    In the most recent Rolling Stone, Sean Wilentz has an article on the rise of right-wing extremism and he, rightly IMO, pins much of the blame on the media:

    At some point over the past 40 years the bedrock principle of journalistic objectivity became twisted into the craven idea of false equivalency, whereby blatant falsehoods get reported simply as one side of an argument and receive equal weight with the reported argument of the other side.
    He goes on to give possible reasons for this and one is
    intimidation at the rise of Fox News and other propaganda operations.
    As a now former reporter (albeit in sports), I have been decrying the rise of he said/she said journalism for years.
