  •  If you get the Senate Republicans on board (11+ / 0-)

with a solution, you can use that in the media and the press to put pressure on the House GOP to give up their quixotic fight. Also you set up the discharge petition in the House. If you get 218 signatures there, you can force an up-or-down vote in the House to pass what's already been approved in the Senate.

Hey political experts, am I stating this correctly?

It's got to be about applying pressure.  There is no other explanation I can think of.  Boehner has always had the key to ending this in his pocket.  The Senate has sent him bills.  All he has to do is allow the House to vote.

But I am no political expert.

what has already been passed by the Senate, but which Boehner won't bring to the floor.

I believe the plan is to pass the Collins deal, with a shorter funding period and a debt raise in it, and a token delay of the medical device tax.

Boehner would then let the house vote on this bill, which when democrats and at least 18 republicans vote for it, this mess will be over.

With the latest poll results, it is thought 50-100 or more republicans will vote to pass, and it will truly look bi-partisan, maybe saving Boehner his job.

It still waits to be seen, if the senate is ready to vote the Collins deal. Reid put up the clean bill, which they wouldn't vote for cloture on, today. So that is out of the way.

That is my understanding of the kabuki theater that is going on.

However, it does not sound promising per full read of the article.

      the House.

Others have simply gotten old. I prefer to think I've been tempered by time.
