    or it'll be even more insane. Albeit with a veneer of respectability to entice moneyed conservative, a second veneer of faux populism to cover up the ongoing racism and xenophobia that is used to manipulate the tea-party crowd into voting against their own economic interests, and some new twist that'll somehow or another tie into the more insane aspects of homegrown fundamentalism.

    Consider that even after World War II there is still a functioning extreme right wing in much of Western Europe. And they occasionally swerve just close enough to the mainstream to gain influence on or even control of their national governments.

      they'd never gotten significant control of any of those governments. Anything is possible but I really can't imagine something worse and more powerful than the GOP taking its place.
