    38 years of public school teaching music to young-un's!  It can change their lives in untold ways.  I usually feel like I'm preaching to the choir when I extol the virtues of music education which is sad.  Those that don't value it admire that I can do something they can't do but they don't always see the value in allowing others the opportunity to experience it.

      my spouse plays music for himself, almost every day.  Our son and daughter, both young adults, play.  And we all go to concerts and shows.
