    Great diary!

This would be the best news in years for the nation:

So Harry Reid has a shot to get an agreement that extends the debt ceiling for a longer period (6 months to 1 year), ends the shutdown with a shorter CR and/or replaces the sequester.  If Reid fails, he may be able to push the Overton window far enough to the left where the GOP might feel that simply passing a clean CR and debt ceiling increase at current levels might be the best solution.
My only objection is your reference to Boehner's testicles, the size (or presence) of which have zero relevance to his integrity and grit (or lack thereof).

Hopefully Reid and Obama can get this done in the way suggested here.

However, my guess is no one can agree to anything and all we get is some short term, last minute fix on debt limit (3-6 months) that may or may not open the gov't and kicks everything else down the road.

9 months would be ideal. A reminder just before the election of their idiocy would help flip the house, and prevent loss of senate.
