Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if much of the media does not even know much about this latest republican travesty.

I know many think it's all about the "corporate media" and how all their voices are somehow all in on the conspiracy to make their bosses happy.

But I have an even darker view. I think the MSM is for too large of a part, a lazy bunch of SOBs who repeat each other's talking points and gobble up their huge salaries without doing much reading or investigating. I know several very smart bloggers, including this diarist,  who would do better on a quiz about the IMPORTANT details of what's going on here than many a well paid news anchor.

Read another poll today that pointed out that the American public largely gets its news through TV these days, including the cable news shows. This is what I mean by large salaries.
How much do you think Chuck Todd makes to spout his lazy both sides do it meme? And he's far from alone in this category.

It's not that I expect the media to spout my views, it's that I expect them to know what's going on, mention it, question it, and pursue it.

Small ray of hope. Saw Don Lemmon of CNN just about jump down a republican's throat over his BS today, and he didn't give up. He asked the right questions, ones that said he actually knew what was going on. It was shocking, in the nicest of ways.

"A typical vice of American politics is the avoidance of saying anything real on real issues." Theodore Roosevelt.
