    •  That's not how it's supposed to work. (2+ / 0-)

Texas is an important state for the National party. National regularly pours money into States when it is favorable, but there is a lot of internal politics involved. Texas has been shafted for several cycles. That needs to stop.

This isn't a bootstraps issue. National Dems need to help us out here to help Davis and others win. No pride involved, it is politics 101.

    •  If our rich people gave, that would be true (0+ / 0-)

Our money is going to other states instead of staying home, which is one reason a good candidate like Paul Sadler couldn't get air time.  He was endorsed by every major newspaper in Texas, but all we saw on TV was Ted Cruz.

      •  Endorsements don't matter, unfortunately (1+ / 0-)

as Bill White also found out in 2010.

The other problem is that Paul Sadler didn't have any name recognition.  Yes, he was a good state rep. (I live 20 minutes from his old district).  But he hadn't been in the arena in 9 years when he ran, and the vast majority of people can't name a state rep outside of their own.
