    is a terrible thing. It should be opposed across the board, not selectively.

      Jihadism in Islam is inherently evil. It is not. The way in which extremist Islamists have bastardized the concept, just as Tea Partiers have vis-a-vis conservatism, is at issue.

        is the murder of innocents.  Whether that's how it was defined originally is irrelevant, words change meaning all the time.  And the murder of innocents is about as evil as it gets.

        that Jihadism as practiced to further an extremist political agenda should be opposed consistently, not just when it suits one's fancy.

          Christian extremists might substitute "crusade" for "jihad," while Zionist extremists might use "holy war" - the common thread is the extremism that values ideology more highly than human life, safety, and dignity.
