get a response. It's so easy to hate Rome when you know that Canterbury and the Lutherans and their affiliated churches will give you an intelligent and learned response and actually invite you into dialogue. I hope millions of Roman Catholics will figure out that trick. Frankly, I hope everyone will get on board with that.

    •  By the way, Latin does not denote brand: (1+ / 0-)

every Psalm in the Book of Common Prayer of almost all Anglican jurisdictions references the Vulgate Bible, in Latin. We also refer to the parts of the Mass in Latin, as do many Lutherans.

What I see is hate, towards Rome, without knowledge of the larger "catholic" church, and a great deal of ignorance.

If you'd like to talk about Roman Catholic Bishops, please do so with intent. Because Russian, Serbian, Ukranian, Anglican (one third of the planet, by the way and all autonomous withing their jurisdictions), Methodists, AME, many Pentecostal churches, Lutherans (of several demonminations and jurisdictions not limited to the Church of Sweden, the Lithuanian Lutheran Church, the Church of Norway, etc, many of which happen to be State churches) have Bishops.

There is nothing worse, in this day of "other" bashing than to simplify a word such as "Bishop" to mean only one thing your friends will read as "what you mean".

No Liberal or Progressive or educated person should ever do so unless they are engaged in the kind of rank agit-prop which properly belongs to the gutter.
