  •  We sort of have to. It's the reality bubble. (0+ / 0-)

No, I would much rather they self-marginalize themselves back into the dark holes, clubs and such they came from.

But that's not gonna happen anytime soon because the GOP elevated them.  Now that they are here, they won't do anything but go for the gold, because they know the path back home is dark and lonely.

    •  Kidding aside, the Tea People self-elevated... (0+ / 0-)

... with, of course, a lot of helium from malefactors with huge supplies of helium to devote to the cause.

Yes, they are entrenched, but there are only a limited number of districts and states where primary battles by the Extreme Fringe of the Right will be effective.

As extreme candidates run in primaries in marginal districts, the more differences between moderate/less dangerous conservative candidates will show. And Democrats, if we choose candidates adroitly and support them, will benefit.

2014 IS COMING. Build up the Senate. Win back the House : 17 seats. Plus!

      •  Oh I don't think they self elevated (0+ / 0-)

KOCH funded the sparkly stuff needed for them to congeal early on.  It made sense to gather them and focus on the ACA effort, and it's always made sense to have them feel welcome in the GOP overall too.

The "Tea Party Express" was and still is being funded with dollars that come from outside this group of people.
