was supposed to be what they were avoiding. Shame. I knew the tough talk was not going to last too long. Now it's just a matter of how much of a pound of flesh they ask for the next go-around.

gunpoint--pardon me for being suspicious here.  It's not exactly a secret that the rollout has been problematic thus far.  Adding an additional layer of complexity will only make things worse.

Smart Goopers (admittedly an oxymoron) realize that, while the party's current approach is an abject failure, they can still snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.  If the narrative is changed from the ACA being implemented to the ACA being implemented poorly, they benefit.  This gambit increases the likelihood that implementation will not succeed, and it gives them further extortion opportunities in a few months' time.

I don't like the smell of this at all.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?

      •  As difficult as it may be, we should hold out for (5+ / 0-)

a clean CR and if we do not get it, we have the side benefit of killing off the Republican Party.

        •  Like the zombies they are, they're hard to kill. (0+ / 0-)

Need a head shot. We don't have that yet. But we can slow them down significantly with a clean bill.

Problem is and has been, they are a regional entrenched neo-Confederacy, dug in in the Bible belt and not giving a shit about national popularity. And, of course, willing to burn the country down to rebuild it in their image from the ashes.
