website to try and divert attention away from how pathetic their own has become.

Plus  tech companies tend to be libertarian in outlook, which can easily be confused with RW nuttery.

    •  Libertarian *is* RW nuttery (7+ / 0-)

Other than personal indulgences and religion, it might as well be the same as far as policy is concerned, if not worse (take away even more services and oversight) - but I give them credit for being more consistent about it.

      •  "personal indulgences and religion" are huge (0+ / 0-)

if by "personal indulgences" you mean things like tolerate gay marriage and abortion and I think it goes without saying how badly the involvement of religion in politics has fucked up this country.

plus, I don't see them being for our idiotic foreign wars, massive surveillance state, and that type of thing.

Fiscal policy would be about the same.

So, they differ on two out of three big issues and like Mr. Loaf says "two out of three ain't bad"

Unfortunately, libertarian "tolerance" for minorities is dwarfed by their tolerance for minority oppression.

According to libertarian ideology, there's no freedom more important than the freedom to discriminate who you do business with and what you pay/charge for whatever reason you want.  This includes, of course, the right to deny entry of coloreds and gays, throwing them to the back of the bus (or off the bus entirely), and paying women less for doing the same job.

Basically, they're completely in favor of institutional racism and sexism.

I'd actually say the overtly racist right wingers are more intellectually honest than the libertarians.  Libertarian policies are quintessentially the same; they just suffer from double-think reality-denial about it.
