  •  MSNBC is the "traditional media " ? (6+ / 0-)

While I applaud the correspondents forthrightness we haven't and I don't think we will see any of the Sunday talking head pundits go there.

but if it started there it could be picked up by one or more of the major networks.

Looks like at least ONE TV news guy took the message from the WH presser that the TV reporters got shut out in.

I'll believe corporations are people when one comes home from Afghanistan in a body bag.

    •  MSNBC is traditional media. They're owned by GE... (6+ / 0-)

They tend to have some programming that skews left, but it's still corporate-owned media that, at the end of the day, serves a corporate, profit-oriented agenda. Look at the firing of Donahue at the height of Iraq-fever. Look at the lack of coverage or defenses of the administration on the NSA stories (these NSA programs are making a lot of people a lot of money). Obviously, I think MSNBC does a better job of informing on most issues than CNN, and FOX (ugh), but I surely wouldn't consider them to be an independent news source.

Besides, as righteous as this question to Blackburn was, do you think they would ever ask it to John Boehner or Mitch McConnell or any other high-ranking, VSP officials?
