at least among a certain socioeconomic demographic, in my experience. I.e. the Archie Bunker cohort. They're still around, The Racists.

Most, though, didn't go to college or a top law school and certainly don't sit on the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

What an embarrassment to this country. To humanity, really.

The key is reaching college age prior to The Pill. The Pill in concurrence with civil rights created the mother of all generational divides because it radically altered the behavior of the mainstream mass of middle class white girls and women very quickly.

I'm more comfortable among college kids 40 years younger than me than I am with pre Pill seniors 5 years older who around here are often still bitching that they can't pinch asses on the job.

Not all of them of course. A few of the tweener generation between Depression and Boomers gave us some great musicians, artists, activist leadership and social advances in the 60's. But they were radical among their generation; among boomers barely 10 years younger, they were much more common.

have usually done nothing to deserve it. Nothing to deserve much of anything, really, except being slapped in the face. What the fuck has Scalia ever done to deserve to be called an intellectual giant? He's a clever little racist piece of shit bully and that's all he is and ever has been.
