    Some of them are definitely among the Rapture Right, but in general the Reps are thinking that if they relent there'll be a million dollars of Koch money running against them in January.

      calling them out wouldn't help either, because their constituents don't believe they're wrong (see authoritarian thought process above).

      As others have said here, this is direct result of the R gerrymandering of their districts to assure that an R is elected.  That would mean a fix could only happen after the 2020 census.  Can we last that long?
