(my Rep is Tim Huelskamp, who is deeply infected with the TP virus), that these guys live in a bubble- they go on Fox News or the Sunday news shows, they go on right wing radio, and they surround themselves with other like minded folk.
My rep takes telephone polls of the people who listen in on his "tele-town halls", and then publishes it on his Facebook page or the Salina newspaper as if polling the people who can stand to listen to him lie for more than 5 minutes actually tells you anything! And he believes he's popular (most people I know out here are farmers and ranchers, and they think he's an idiot).
But he's one of those guys that is in a very safe district (R+27), so there's no accountability.

Your beliefs don't make you a better person. Your behavior does.

    •  As the Speaker of the House is, for that matter .. (0+ / 0-)

... on Presidential vote, the safest Republican district after the gerrymander is R+25%, the second safest R+14. Hw neighbors districts that were, in the Presidential race, were R+2%, R+6% and R+11%.

No extra credit for guessing that Boehner is in the R+25% (in an election where the Democratic Presidential candidate carried the normally slight R leaning but heavy auto component producing state, because auto bailout), and that allowing his district to be gerrymandered R+15% could have have given not one, not two, but three Republican congressmen easier election fights.
