as a diary yesterday had suggested that workaround.  (I'm too lazy to look for the diary.)

I got clear through the application process with my sock and am up to enrollment.  I haven't fully enrolled yet as I'm deciding between two plans, but I'm thisclose to being done.

It does suck that you have to create a sock to get enrolled... hopefully the problems will get ironed out soon.

how many people having problems today would have their problems solved by signing up with a new account.  Shouldn't the site itself be proposing that as a workaround?  I am assuming you cannot successfully enroll on more than one account with the same SSN.  Nor would you want to (who wants to pay two insurance premiums?)

and the thing kicked me out. Used both my emails ... sigh. It's Open Enrollment season with our existing coverage now, and I so want my SO to examine our alternatives under the ACA, since our current coverage is self-insurance from the state university for whose Health Sciences Center he works .... in IT.

You've seen Blue Bloods? Our family could be the model, if they were talking about information / computer technology in a Texas medical school system ....

is that you can find out the parameters of what you will pay and what your coverage will be now, without relying on the site right now when it's slammed.   Just do a google search for which insurance providers are selling in your state .... then you can go to their sites and see the coverage in detail.  There are even online calculators for your approximate subsidy if you qualify.

Will also mention that you can get as many free email addresses as you need from google, aol, etc., and that the 3d time was the charm for me.

        •  heh. I already have 2, but I might (0+ / 0-)

utilize one of the ... ahem ... anonymized ones I have access to, next go-round. Of course, if it all falls in the can -- I'm a service-connected disabled veteran, so there is at some point backup....
