    I have heard a couple of stories like this. Small business owners w/o many employees seem to have their rates go up. NC declined to set up exchanges so the federal govt. did it for them. There are only two insurance companies to choose from, BCBS-available  in every county, and just one other only available in selected counties. So in effect BCBS has a monopoly here if you want to go with the ACA.

    Seems like they are taking advantage of this. I feel if proper exchanges were set up, competition would be driving the price down. Our Republican governor turned back Medicaid money and by some estimates I read about in the paper, this has made EVERYONE'S insurance rates through ACA go up about 10%. In addition A 3% extra charge for those in NC to pay the federal govt. to set up the exchanges.

    Of course the R's are happy to screw everyone here.
