with letters of support, stroke your tea party acquaintances with high praise for Cruz' crusade, etc .... in other words, feed his ego directly and build-up his importance within his circle of influence.  That is his main currency.

Of course, you could also donate money to Cruz but I would not recommend that course of action lest you too should become a fool.

I listened to the local conservative radio station this morning where I live (South Dakota) and the host opened the phones for about an hour for feedback on Ted Cruz and whether of not Cruz was a hero or a goat during the govt. shutdown.

The result: callers were almost 4 to 1 in support of Cruz and many commented on how impressed they were in his leadership skills.

The consensus seems to be this:  baggers detest Obama and despise Obamacare --they are looking for a bare knuckles street fighter.  The wingnuts are willing to suffer a bloody beating if it looks  like the brawler might be able to land a shot at the champ (even though they will lose the fight!).

      Delusional, this bunch.

is that "looking like a fighter" doesn't make you a fighter.

It's the pretty guys you have to be wary of -- those are the ones people can't lay a glove on.  A guy with a smashed-up nose and scarred face might look tough to someone who doesn't know better, but he looks that way because he's spent too much time as someone else's punching bag.

So lets hope the Tea Party keeps backing guys who look like bare-knuckles fighters.  They put their faith in Cruz and got handed a humiliating defeat.  Let them do that again and again.

I've lost my faith in nihilism

    •  Yup. (0+ / 0-)

No cash, which will be used against us. Lots of moral support for his very righteous mission though. Cruz is exactly what conservativism needs.

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.
