It's great you keep posting the phonebanks... what could we post that might make the Recommend list? Any ideas?

I'll be frank, I don't think phone banks or campaign events will generate a lot of recommendations because they aren't known as being "newsworthy" in the Daily Kos community.  Certain people may recommend but that doesn't mean there won't be visibility.  On the contrary, folks can see any Matt Moore for Congress campaign events and just go to them rather than spending time having a discussion.  For example, I covered Democratic candidate Jerry Tetalman's Congressional campaign in CA-49 (against Darrell Issa) from September 2012 - November 2012) and I would post every single phone bank, campaign event, etc. that was listed on Tetalman's website and shared in the regular newsletter to supporters.  Tetalman and his campaign manager reported to me that these diaries I posted really helped with bringing in volunteers and visibility.

Also, definitely consider using Twitter.  I wrote a diary reporting on a Tweet made by Neal Marchbanks in TX-19 (where Rep. Randy Neugebauer serves) on the need for volunteers to help out in phone banking.  I then thereafter tweeted the diary and then others retweeted, including one woman in Florida who has over 2,300 followers and quite a network on Twitter.

I should correct myself:  Phone banks and campaign events can generate recommendations but it depends on the content that's being reported in the diary.

For example, if there's evidence where the campaign is reporting there is a larger than expected increase in phone banking volunteers and there are pictures to show it, then that can really start to increase the buzz and get additional visibility on Kos (and yes, perhaps additional recommendations).

Or if say someone like Matt Moore in Alaska makes a campaign speech and the content of the speech is newsworthy (and transcribed in diary), then that can definitely get considerable recommendations.
