in general, or that involves actual education - I'm against brainwashing and bullshit hiding behind homeschooling - which I why I clarified.

    •  The question is not (0+ / 0-)

are you better/more qualified than one teacher, but than several dozen teachers.

The homeschooling parents position is that they are a better math teacher than a math teacher, a better music teacher than the music teacher, ditto history, biology, physics, chemistry, languages, literature, etcetera.

We are the principled ones, remember? We don't get to use the black hats' tricks even when it would benefit us. Political Compass: -6.88, -6.41

modules, special videos, schooling programs - so you don't have to be an expert in every subject or any subject - the internet puts most of the answers and a lot of different teaching methods at your fingertips.

I look at my own regular schooling and the years that were just wasted with particularly bad accredited teachers - I could have learned much more and had a better sense of learning - and missed out on a lot of bullshit by being homeschooled.  There are benefits to be had if you are diligent about it.

I do schoolwork from a homeschooling site now as an adult for myself.  I'm weak in math - I study math.  My science is a bit fuzzy in places, I'm clarifying.  So there is value in homeschool education tools today that wasn't there 10 years ago.
