I started paying into Soc in 1947, and paid into Soc every year from then until 2008. My benefits were bought and paid for. It's an 'entitlement' only in the sense that since I own my home I'm entitled to live in it. When Medicare came along I paid into that also for years, with my contribution exceeding my benefits until this old bod started to have problems. Also bought and paid for.

'Entitlement' is used as a slur by the Tealiban, who are not famous for contemplating things in intelligent depth.

Now I understand that Brothers Koch have so much money that these 'entitlements' mean nothing to them. But they should be smart enough to understand how much they legitimately mean to the rest of us. But then, Koch's father was a founder of the John Birch Society, which when I was young was teaching that masses of Communist soldiers, Chinese or Russian, were gathering in Mexico and an invasion was imminent. That sort of 'logic' may be inherited.
