  •  And once the ACA is running, and people are (4+ / 0-)

getting health care, and getting their subsidies, Republicans will STILL repeal the whole thing if they win. And their sheeple will cheer even as their health care is taken away.

    •  No. I don't think so. (6+ / 0-)

(Are you talking about winning in 2016?)

If they run on the premise that they will revoke health care from 10s of millions of people and let them die brutal deaths from medical neglect -- after Americans experience three years of health care security -- I don't think that is possible.

Certainly, the Republicans don't think it is.

        (I think you are, actually)

      •  They will run on this selectively (3+ / 0-)

and by dog-whistle -- I'm thinking of the Scott Walker strategy. They will, in some places, talk about "reforming" the ACA (or even "strengthening" it) to deal with some of its problem areas. (I have my own list; a Democratic list would include helping the people who were supposed to be in the Medicaid expansion and now can't get subsidies either.) "Income verification," "fraud and abuse," "IRS overreach," and of course "eliminate the penalty/individual mandate" and "no birth control or abortion." Only in ultra-safe places, and under their breath, will they whisper "repeal." Then the day after the election, the repeal bill is drafted or brought out of hiding.
