  •  Could be an opportunity to draw a line in the sand (5+ / 0-)

    on the influence of big business in elections. Democrats can say hey its either some tax cuts or you can side with the party that will drive the country into collapse, your choice.

    You would think (or at least hope) businesses would prefer slight tax increases to the potential for complete economic collapse.

    To me, that's the beauty of science: to know that you will never know everything, but you never stop wanting to.

      and they already tried it back in 2008----->turn the Dem Party into Wall Street's protectors. After all, until Teddy Roosevelt split the Republican Party, it was the Dems who were the conservative pro-business party. There's no reason whatever why we can't return to that. The corporados don't care which party they get their favors from.

      Think the Dem Party would turn the money down?

      Think the corporados wouldn't get anything in return for it?

        144 (I believe) Republicans just went on record that they are willing to crash the economy. I doubt those people will be receiving a lot of money from the big business lobby.
