    Either the President really thinks fixing entitlements is a good idea or he's deliberately promoting bad policy.

    As I argue further down, I think advocating policies that you don't support is terrible political practice, plenty of risk for negligible (at best rewards). Personally, I give the President credit for not being so foolish.

    The conclusion I draw from this is that he really wants to reform entitlements. And I'm not the only one who thinks it's a terrible idea. I admit the President's superior intellect to mine but that doesn't make him immune to some of the worst aspects of the CW of the monied classes.
