Republican votes outnumber Democratic ones 69102 to 30179.

Dems carrying Avoyelles Parish which Romney won by 27% thanks to candidate Robert Johnson, but losing everything else including the Obama won parishes of East Carroll (62% Obama), Madison (61%), St. Helena (60%), and Tensas 56%.

Aren't low turnout elections the best!

Even the NJ Sen Special Election earlier this week had low turnout yet Cory Booker still won.

However, Democrats really have absolutely NOTHING to lose in by running a candidate or candidates in special elections in red districts or supposedly "red districts."

If anything, this is good more Democrats are running in LA-05 in the special election than just one.  It shows the party really wants to continue building the base, even they strike out once and again.

    •  Democrats didn't have a River Parishes (0+ / 0-)

candidate and Johnson apparently wasn't able to get those parish D machines to roll for him.
