Gawd knows we've had our share of issues with the judging in our reviews here in SMGB. The past couple of seasons have been especially notable for instances of what could be legitimately labeled as questionable judging. And Heidi isn't always successful in hiding favoritism; just ask Patricia and Alexandria. But I've never thought the show was rigged to the point of selecting a pre-determined winner. Just ask Patricia and Alexandria.

The contestants making accusations this season had some major failures walk the runway. None of them, including Helen, deserved to be in the final four. It's just sour grapes because they didn't like Alexandria and Heidi obviously did. Bradon should have been in the top two based on his performance all season but he completely missed the mark on his final collection and ended up fourth. Dom didn't win many of the challenges during the course of the show but deserved the win hands-down because her collection was inspired, creative, cohesive, and well-executed. Plus it was appropriately crafted and styled for a fashion show; it's where Alexandria slipped up which landed her in second place. And I said over and over that Justin should have been sent home but Tim Gunn and the judges saw something in his talent and gave him a chance to show at Fashion Week. Justin proved the judges right and blew everyone away with his artistic and beautifully inspired and successfully realized collection. He came in third.

Watching the disagreement between the judges shows that while they're always looking out for the best designs and most promising designer they aren't always in agreement on what that look may be or who that person is. As executive producer Heidi may exert some influence over the judges but there have been many times when it was obvious that Nina Garcia or one of the other judges ruled the day.

The accusations don't surprise me considering the fiesty and contentious nature of this latest group. A few of them should be thankful they lasted as long as they did because if I were a judge I would have kicked a group of them off the show in one fell swoop.

When the ever grandiloquent Tim Gunn shouts, "Bullshit!" ... you should probably watch where you step! :)

I read in one article (can't remember where) that judging goes on for hours! It's just cut to minutes for TV! So it seems they really do deliberate.

This year it was soooo evident that Heidi ruled out on Alexandria! And it seemed to me that Zac really was smitten by Dom.  He really seemed to be rooting for her.  Really really was impressed by her!  But even though Heidi got her way and kept Alexandria in the show, she didn't win overall.

Sometimes winning is also just the exposure you get on the runway... Even tho it's not the grand prize.

Honestly, I thought judging overall this season wound up correctly... Even with Alexandria staying in the game throughout...
