  •  Not a snark. I remember it well. (0+ / 0-)
At one point after the 2nd season, DeLorenzo and Yoba briefly held out from filming in a bid to get more money. Head producer Dick Wolf played hardball and threatened to simply kill them off-screen in the 3rd season debut episode (in a fire) and replace them with two new detectives. http://www.imdb.com/...
You think friends was a great show and deserved all that money?  NY Undercover was a better show whose actors deserved more money.  But their paycheck was considered "privileged" for being "given an opportunity" to act on a tv show.

I'll take your word for it.  But I'm not sure what your point is.

Is it that good shows are under-promoted and scrapped too quickly?  Sure.  30 Rock and Friday Night Lights fans will certainly agree with you.  But quality doesn't correlate very well with ratings, and ratings pay the bills.

Friends was a wildly popular sitcom.  The high ratings allowed its actors to demand more money. Irrespective of whether they "deserved" it, their market value was higher.

First they came for the slippery-slope fallacists, and I said nothing. The End.
