They never learn. Maybe now they'll just go home and try to gum up their state's governments.

    As if. I know.

Unfortunately, I live in one of the states where they have gained control.  They bitch and moan about the liberals messing up everything even though the species of liberals, which was always rather scarce in Georgia, have almost entirely vanished.  The legislature's already rather weak ethics rules are simply ignored, now.  There has been little legislation designed to increase the public good in years.  Just more bubbas getting fancy suits, vacations, and other goodies.  Education has been gutted by $6 billion over the past 9 years.

An ignorant populace is trivial to control. A well educated populace is impossible to control.
Which populace do you think that their masters, their betters, prefer?

sounds something like the state where I reside. Louisiana has a Governor who is supposed to be born in Louisiana after his parents came in the port at NO, or something like that. However, he learned his moral obligations to the poor and his support of the underprivileged before "they" left India. He does token appearances to bring in industrial improvement. Only one of his many trips this past year had to do with any effort to get business for Louisiana. He is only interested in his own promotion to the government in DC which he labels as far too BIG government. He should stay home and not go there if that is the case. He would be one too many for sure. He cut taxes for industries, cut school funds, especially for higher education (State Universities). All the service programs in the State have taken cuts. The State workers who give a lot more than they take, had had their insurance programs, and retirement programs attacked. Thank God for those who work to protect those programs for the retirement system and insurance for Civil Service workers.
At this time there are still cuts going on but it took a long time before the state legislatures began to fight back against the complete destruction of Louisiana. The infra-structure is shaky, and Jindal turned down Federal Funds as it might control something. He is a one man demolition of the government of Louisiana and he wants to go to DC. Is he a tea bagger? I do not know, but he seems to like some of their ideas. He could catch the next flying carpet to India where he would fit in the cast he likes best.
