  •  "Grabbing more power?" (1+ / 0-)

The President currently has the power, and, his Attorney General argues, the right, to summarily execute anybody, anywhere.

    So do his highest advisors.

Further, they have the power under the law, now, to indefinitely detain anyone they like.

The only justification they need for either action is to say, after the fact, that the action was justified by national security.

In comparison, minting a coin seems fairly small beer. I know it's supposed to be Congress that controls the purse, but really, once you throw out the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th amendments, the horse of executive power is out of the barn.

I tried to go online to find a similar bear head...but when I searched “Big Bear Head” it gave me a San Diego craigslist ad entitled “Big Bear needs some quick head now” and then I just decided to never go on the internet again.--Jenny Lawson
