the Republican voters either, as Letsgetitdone just showed. Actually more than that.

The Democratic politicians are to the right of 2/3 of Republican voters. And we're being asked to accept that in the name of partisan loyalty.

I tried to go online to find a similar bear head...but when I searched “Big Bear Head” it gave me a San Diego craigslist ad entitled “Big Bear needs some quick head now” and then I just decided to never go on the internet again.--Jenny Lawson

cut Social Security, then look for Seniors on SS to seek out other political parties that are foursquare behind it and that are seeking to extend it.

The Democrats have called progressives DFHs and asked "where they can go?" The answer is nowhere yet; but you put progressives together with seniors, labor unions, environmentalists and anti-Wall Street people, including Occupy and you have a major political party. All it will take is some organization. And the tea partiers will be hard-pressed to stay away from that new party because they'd be severely cross-pressured by the pro-entitlement policies it would advocate. And yes, I used the word "entitlement," as in a right. I believe in the second bill of rights (FDR). A real entitlement is a right and that's Social Security.

Turning against Social Security and Medicare are Party-breaking maneuvers for the Democrats and for the Republicans, both. They can talk about strengthening it all they want. We know that strengthening it means increasing benefits for these programs, and no amount of 1984/Madison avenue BS about fiscal sustainability from people who don't even know what fiscal sustainability is and can't even define it for you is going to persuade people otherwise.

      •  I agree. A real make-or-break moment for Democrats (0+ / 0-)
