    Pretty words are just that. Francis has been very clear that he is not advocating any change of policy. He is only trying to sound nicer and less harsh. I fear this is nothing but PR.

      Moving beyond words and into acts of faith.  The Pope has to say words - and I'm glad he's choosing these.  The words of the Catholic church have too long been abusive, and this is a step in the right direction.  THe Pope is a powerful messenger for much of the US electorate, and I think the timing and content of this statement (Oct 17th) is actually more important to the US political climate than many people might realize.

      Howard Dean will always be my president.
