for those who desperately want to be called a Tea Party or teabaggers.

It's the John Birch Society rebranded for modern consumption. The Fred Koch financed loons who called Eisenhower "a communist agent" and damned the largely Baptist Southern Christian Leadership Council as "atheist communists."

    Kossacks know the crazy:

INSIDER Proof: Tea & Libertarian Parties ARE The John Birch Society -- from War on Error, August 2013

Birch Society Republicans: America Now Has Three Major Political Parties -- BonTempsJolie, January 2013

Doesn't Anyone Remember the John Birch Society? -- Upper West, June 2012

The final vote to avoid Federal default on debt and pay the bills showed head counts at 144 Birch Society Republicans in the House of Representative and 18 in the Senate.

These are crazy people, mostly. Dominated by the dozens of well-funded propaganda hoaxes that drive the right-wing subculture. Open to distorted evaluations of reality from combinations of narcissism, sociopathic indifference to humanity, and simple ignorance.

to an excellent comment. Crazy is as crazy does. Mainly those people are seriously bad people. And when I say they're bad, that doesn't mean they're good. ;-)

      •  "Crazy," here, refers to personality disorders. (4+ / 0-)

Narcissism by the yard, antisocial disorder, paranoia, some elements of schizoid spectrum where they get obsessed with their inanimate-object guns.

Cruz and Rubio pretty much define narcissism. What's true for them is what's spilled out of their mouths in the last 15 minutes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Jim DeMint ??? You get the idea.

"Bad," however, I usually reserve to judgment of the consequences of their actions. Scott Walker is an exception. Karl Rove, of course.

but to me, what is called "personality disorders" is all too often the result of one's character defects and not a truly clinical problem, Cruz being a classic example, as far as I'm concerned.

gets you further for predicting behaviors and identifying strengths and weaknesses. Psychiatrists and psychologists have studied the Personality Disorders in great detail, similar to the effort applied to the physiologically driven conditions such as schizophrenia and major depression.

Moral appraisals that go with "character defects" can predict that bad behavior will be repeated. That's skimming the surface.

How's this for a crystal ball:

      JBS is doing it's damnedest (0+ / 0-)

to appear to be a normal, sensible organization. ... Despite odd descriptions -- claiming "unconstitutional" or "illegal" for this and that -- (the JBS issues) are arguably civil disagreements.

To be a true Bircher in the tradition of Far Right extremism, the key issues involve willingness to damage the country in clear, nonsensical pursuit of paranoid fantasies.

Yeah, that's the 150 Members in the House.

Watch this Klan of Birchers line up to wreck the good economic standing of the country with their phony Debt Limit craziness. But fortunately the Business Republicans know they are crazy. The Dems and the Bizzies ain't gonna let it happen.

Come 2014 in November, look for a major renewal to the Bizzies, as well. At worst the Bizzies are honest patriots, not the ilk of these ignorant zealots.

Klan of Birchers... what else for the 144 Members who voted for default?
