  •  The Tea Party is the Republican Party. (6+ / 0-)

If the Republican Leadership rolls over to them out of fear, they are them.  Every "serious" Republican Senator in 2010 and 2012 pandered like hell to the Tea Party during their campaigns.  You have the minority leader hiring a teabagger as his campaign chair for his 2014 re-election campaign.  McCain was a teabagger pandering fool in 2010, Hatch was very complimentary of the tea party in 2012 as other examples - these are the GOP establishment old guard and they're afraid of the Tea Party.  GOP politicians only stand up to the Tea Party when they have new 6 year terms it seems.

For all intents and purposes, the Tee Potty is indeed the GOTP. That is why the GOTP has to go. Because of the state of conservatism in this country, I submit that the US has reached the point where the nation cannot endure, permanently, half conservative and half non-conservative.
